Tamsin River Run festival returns to downtown June 14

The Tamsin River Run festival returns to downtown Wrenford on Saturday, June 14. You can find the event along Mercer Street and the Tamsin River Trail, where we are hosting live music, local food vendors, and a 5-kilometre trail race.

If you want to run the 5-kilometre trail race, you can register at Riverside Flats Park starting at 8:00 a.m. The course follows the Tamsin River Trail System, passing under the Centennial Bridge before finishing on the festival grounds near Market Square. After the race, the festival begins with performances on the main stage, interactive art for children, and food stalls from local Wrenford producers. General admission is free, so bring your own lawn chair or blanket.

Street closures will affect downtown traffic on the day. Mercer Street between Tamsin Street and Water Street will be closed to through traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you live or work in the closure zone, you can apply for a Street use permit to arrange deliveries or loading zones ahead of time. Emergency vehicles and Wrenford Transit will keep access open throughout the day. You should use alternate routes such as Benchlands Drive or Northgate Boulevard and allow extra time for your trip.

"We are thrilled to bring the Tamsin River Run back to our downtown core," said Samuel Adeyemi, GM Infrastructure and Planning. "This event supports our local businesses and showcases the Tamsin River Trail System as a premier destination for active recreation. We have coordinated closely with transit and emergency services to keep the community safe and connected."

If you are planning to attend, you should plan ahead. Wrenford Transit will run increased frequency on Routes 1 and 3, and the Downtown Transit Terminal will serve as the main hub. If you want to set up a vendor booth or request a temporary stage permit, please review the Planning applications guidelines or submit your request through the Find a planning application portal. All permits must be approved at least fourteen days before the event.
