The City of Wrenford Parks & Trails team begins its annual pathway inspection on Monday, October 15, to prepare for Lights at the Falls. The holiday display runs from late November through December along Fallsview Road and the surrounding downtown parks.
Crews will check the Tamsin River Trail System, Centennial Gardens, and the paths near the falls for surface repairs, drainage issues, and accessibility features. The inspection makes sure every walkway is safe and clear for the thousands of visitors who will come to see the lights. We will also test temporary lighting fixtures, check drainage grates, and look for any loose benches or signage that needs attention.
If you notice a cracked path, a blocked drain, or a safety hazard in a park or along the trail, please tell us right away. You can report a park maintenance issue using the online form on our website or call 519-555-0100. The sooner we hear from you, the faster we can fix it before the season starts. Remember that temporary holiday decorations must follow our by-law and must be removed within fourteen days after the event ends.
“We want every family and visitor to enjoy a smooth, safe walk while taking in the holiday lights,” says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. “Our crews are working through the fall to catch small problems early so they do not become big issues later in the season.”
