The City of Wrenford will close several streets in the Fallsview neighbourhood to prepare for Lights at the Falls. The temporary closures will take place from Friday, December 12 to Sunday, December 14, 2025. Crews will use this time to set up the holiday display, install safety barriers, and manage traffic for the event.
What to expect
Fallsview Road will be closed between Water Street and Albert Street. Ferris Street will be closed between Fallsview Road and the Centennial Bridge. You will see detour signs directing traffic around the work zone. Local residents and emergency vehicles will still have access to their addresses.
Plan your trip
If you are driving, please allow extra time and follow the posted detours. The best way to get to the Fallsview area during the event is to walk, cycle, or take Wrenford Transit. If you must drive, use the north-south routes along Benchlands Drive or Corvid Way to bypass the closure zone.
Remember that the overnight on-street parking ban runs from December 1 to March 31. If you are staying near the event area, make sure your vehicle is parked in a garage or a legal parking lot so it does not block the snow clearing crews. Check the Snow route parking bans page for more details on how the overnight ban works.
A note from the City
"We work closely with the event organizers to keep traffic moving and keep everyone safe while we prepare the site," says James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "Thank you for your patience as we set up the lights and make sure the streets are secure for visitors."
