The Wrenford Public Library Board approved the 2025 operating budget on January 8 at its regular meeting in the Main Branch community room. The budget outlines how the library will serve the community this year, with a strong emphasis on expanding digital access and upgrading online services.
Under the approved plan, the library will invest in new digital programs and resources. This includes upgrading the digital library card application system so patrons can receive instant cards on their phones. The board also approved funding for expanded online learning tools and better internet access in all three branches: the Main Branch, the Northgate Branch, and the Ambrel Lake Branch.
The library will also continue its popular in-person programs, including early literacy sessions for young children and free community reading circles. Funding for the library archives will remain steady to ensure local history materials are properly cared for and accessible to researchers.
City Manager Robert Eng said, “The library is a cornerstone of our community. This budget ensures that every resident, whether they visit in person or connect online, has the tools they need to learn and grow.”
Residents who want to see the full budget details can view them on the library board meeting minutes page. The library board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Branch community room. Public members are welcome to attend and share feedback during the public comment period.
