The City of Wrenford Emergency Management Organization will test the city's emergency notification system across all wards on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
Residents who have signed up to receive emergency notifications will get an email, voice call, or text message. The alert will read: “EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE. This is a test of the City of Wrenford emergency notification system. No action is required. THIS IS ONLY A TEST.”
The Wrenford Emergency Alert Network is used by the Emergency Management Organization and the city to send urgent public notices during a crisis. If you have not signed up to receive alerts, we encourage you to register today at our Sign up for emergency alerts. You can also follow the city's official social media accounts for updates.
"Being prepared for an emergency starts with knowing how to receive official instructions," said Liam O'Rourke, Community Emergency Management Coordinator. "We want to make sure every resident gets these critical messages quickly, so please take a moment to check your contact information in our system."
In addition to signing up for alerts, the city recommends that every household prepare a family emergency plan and build an emergency kit. You should be ready to be self-sufficient for at least three days. Learn how to put together a kit and plan for your family on our Build an emergency kit.
