Get your spring cleaning ready, Wrenford. The East Wrenford Waste Management Facility opens its gates for the spring season on Saturday, March 22. Starting that morning, residents can bring their accumulated household items, furniture, and yard waste to the drop-off depot at 3500 Concession 4 Road. The facility is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. throughout the season.
Spring is the busiest time of year for the depot, so plan your visits early in the day to avoid long lines. You can bring paper yard-waste bags, grass clippings, small tree branches, and household items like mattresses, furniture, and electronics. Household hazardous waste—such as paint, solvents, and automotive fluids—will be accepted starting in May. The depot also offers free compost and mulch pickup in the spring, so bring four 5-gallon pails to take some green material home for your garden.
"We know how much people rely on the spring clean-up to tackle projects around the house and yard," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "We've added extra staff and equipment at the entrance this year to keep the weigh-in process moving quickly. Please follow the posted guidelines so we can keep the lines short and the site safe for everyone."
To make your trip smoother, separate your materials before you arrive. Weigh-in is free for Wrenford residents. If you are unsure where an item belongs, check the Waste Wizard tool on the City website, or call the facility at 519-555-0128 for help. Remember, leaf and yard waste bags are collected curbside on a biweekly schedule starting in April. If you need a schedule reminder, sign up for text alerts through our collection schedule page.
