The East Wrenford Waste Management Facility is extending its Saturday operating hours through the summer to make it easier for residents to drop off bulky items, yard waste, and recycling. The depot is currently open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays until August 31, 2025.
The facility is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. year-round. The extended Saturday schedule is designed to accommodate the increased demand for waste drop-offs during the warmer months. Residents can bring up to three bulky items per visit, up to two times per year. Accepted items include old furniture, mattresses, large appliances, and scrap metal. Proof of Wrenford residency is required at the gate.
"We know that summer is a popular time for cleaning out basements, garages, and backyards," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Extending our Saturday hours gives residents more flexibility to drop off their items without having to take time off work or fight with weekday traffic."
While at the facility, residents can also drop off Blue Box recycling, Green Bin organics, and seasonal yard waste. The City reminds everyone that curbside Blue Box and Green Bin collections continue on their regular weekly schedules. If you have extra recycling or a large amount of yard waste, the depot is a convenient place to take it. The site also accepts household hazardous waste, electronics, and shingles and drywall during designated hours.

The City thanks residents for helping keep Wrenford clean and reducing the amount of waste sent to the landfill. For more information about waste collection services, visit the Garbage & Recycling section.
