Council appoints members to public art committee

Today, Wrenford City Council appointed five new members to the Public Art Committee. The committee advises on the placement of public art and manages the city's percentage-for-art program, meeting monthly to guide how art shapes our streets, parks, and buildings.

The new members are Maya Chen-Watson, Gwen Lachance, Aaron Bellamy, Beatriz Lopes, and Colin Ashby. All five will serve two-year terms starting immediately.

"We are looking for people who care about our neighbourhoods and want to help Wrenford's public spaces tell our story," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "These members bring great energy and different viewpoints to the table."

The committee works closely with the Public Art Coordinator and the Public Art Policy to review proposals for murals, site art, and developer contributions. Residents can watch the committee meet at the meeting schedules page, or watch the livestream on the City's official YouTube channel.

If you are interested in volunteering on the Public Art Committee or other city boards, applications are open year-round. You can submit your interest through the apply to serve on a committee page.
