Starting March 1, 2026, updated park rental rates and booking policies will be in effect across all City parks and trails. The changes were approved by Council earlier this month to keep pace with rising maintenance costs and to improve access to our outdoor spaces.
“Our goal is to keep park rentals affordable for residents while ensuring we have the funds to maintain our trails, washrooms, and playgrounds to a high standard,” says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner.
Here is what you need to know about the new rates and rules:
- Standard greenspace and pathway rentals: $60.00 per day
- Major pathway segments: $90.00 per day
- Portable washroom rentals: $120.00 per unit per day
- Park pathway permit applications: $150.00
To book a space, you must submit your application at least 30 days before your planned date. If you need to cancel, you will receive a full refund when you give us 30 days' notice. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the event are not eligible for a refund. All approved permits must be displayed at the site on the day of your rental.
Organizers planning to build a garden pathway or boardwalk in a park must apply for a separate park pathway permit. This requires $2,000,000 in liability insurance and a post-construction site inspection to verify the work matches the approved plan.
These updates are part of the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151. You can view the complete fee schedule and read the full booking guidelines on the Learn about park rental rates page. If you are ready to reserve a field, court, or park shelter, visit the Apply for a park rental permit page.
