The City of Wrenford is advising trail users that a section of the path at Benchlands Lookout Park will close for a short time. The work runs from Monday, February 17 through Thursday, February 20, 2025. Crews need the quiet to run a geological survey along the trail that drops down from the lookout toward the Tamsin River Trail.
Engineers will take soil samples and check the ground conditions ahead of future pathway upgrades. The survey team will use light equipment and will mark the work zone with barricades and signage. You will not be able to walk or cycle through the closed stretch during these four days.
"This survey helps us plan safe, long-term improvements for our trail network," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "We will keep the area quiet and clear so the ground team can do their work without interruption."
Trail users should use the alternate route along the main Tamsin River Trail or take the paved path around the festival grounds. If you see any damage to the trail surface or notice a safety issue, please let us know through Report a park maintenance issue.
