The Wrenford Public Library Board has announced a new interlibrary loan partnership that connects our three branches to five additional regional libraries across Southwestern Ontario. Starting next week, residents will be able to request materials from these new partners directly through the Library portal.
Interlibrary loan allows patrons to borrow books, magazines, audiobooks and digital materials from libraries outside our own collection. The new partnership means that items will travel faster between cities, and pickup at your nearest branch will happen in half the usual time. You can still request materials through the main Library website or by visiting the front desk at any of our branches.
“We are thrilled to expand this service for our neighbours,” says Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. “When libraries work together, everyone wins. Residents get a wider selection of titles without having to travel out of town, and our staff can focus on helping you find exactly what you need.”
The partnership includes libraries in Tamsin Valley, Oakhaven, Millbrook, Cedar Ridge and Port Wren. These communities share similar collection strengths, which means you will see fewer delays when borrowing niche topics, local history archives and popular new releases.
Here is what you need to know to take advantage of the expanded network:
- Requests are free for all cardholders.
- You can place requests online, by phone at 519-555-0130, or in person at any branch.
- Items will arrive at your chosen branch in approximately five business days.
- Borrowing periods and renewal rules match the Wrenford Public Library standard.
- Lost or damaged items are handled through your home branch.
If you do not have a library card yet, you can apply online or visit Get a library card for more information. You can also check out our Library policy list to see full details on borrowing limits and digital resources.
The Wrenford Public Library Board continues to invest in programs that keep our community connected. For updates on new partnerships and seasonal reading events, visit Library or stop by the main branch at 150 Mercer Street.
