Wrenford residents turned out in strong numbers on Monday, October 26, 2026, to elect a mayor and six city councillors. The unofficial results from 34 polling locations across the city show a turnout of 62 per cent, marking a significant increase from the previous election cycle.
The unofficial results confirm that Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price and all six ward councillors were elected. The new council will officially be sworn in on November 15, 2026, following the declaration of results by the Chief Election Officer on Friday, November 7, 2026.
On election day, you had the chance to vote at community centres, schools, and the Downtown Transit Terminal. Advance voting was held from Thursday, October 23 to Saturday, October 25, with extended hours at several central locations to accommodate workers and families. The City of Wrenford thanks all 147 election workers, who staffed polling places from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as the 85 volunteers who supported the counting process at the Downtown Transit Terminal.
The official results will be reviewed by the Chief Election Officer and declared on Friday, November 7, 2026. The newly elected council will hold its organizational meeting on November 14, 2026, and will be officially sworn in the following day. During the transition period, the current council continues to serve in an acting capacity.
"Thank you to everyone who voted," said City Manager Robert Eng. "Our democracy thrives when residents engage with the decisions that shape our city. We look forward to working with the newly elected council to deliver on our commitments."
