Wrenford Transit is hiring seasonal bus drivers to keep our routes running smoothly through the fall. Applications are open now at the Wrenford Careers portal and will close on August 23, 2024.
What the job involves
Seasonal drivers will operate our fixed routes from 1 to 14, run the 20-series school specials, and provide support for Wrenford Access. You will spend your days picking up passengers, following set schedules, and providing friendly service to neighbours across the city.
Qualifications and training
You will need a valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean abstract, a good head for directions, and a friendly attitude. No prior transit experience is required. Once hired, you will join a four-week paid training program at the Downtown Transit Terminal. You will learn our routes, safety procedures, and how to use the fare collection equipment.
Pay and benefits
Starting pay is $24.50 an hour. Seasonal staff also receive access to the City’s benefits package, including a health spending account and vacation pay that grows with your years of service. “We are looking for people who enjoy meeting new faces and keeping our community moving,” says Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. “This is a great way to earn a steady income while learning how our transit system works, and the training is fully paid.”
