The City of Wrenford officially begins its 2024 spring construction season today, March 18. Crews are heading out to start road renewal, sidewalk repairs, and utility upgrades across the city, with priority work planned for Benchlands Drive, Northgate Boulevard, and Corvid Way.
This year’s road program focuses on micro-surfacing, asphalt resurfacing, and intersection enhancements to keep our transportation network safe and efficient. You will notice increased activity on city streets through the summer and into the fall as crews complete these essential improvements.
“You can expect some detours and temporary lane closures as we upgrade the road network,” says James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. “Please follow the flaggers, keep your distance from the work zones, and allow extra time for your commute. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our streets.”
To help you navigate the season, the City provides up-to-date information on all current and upcoming road closures through our Service Alerts page. You can also view the full list of planned projects and dates on the Construction season schedule.
If you are a contractor or business planning construction work this season, make sure you review the Construction traffic management plan guidelines and apply for the necessary Street use permits before starting any work. For questions about construction noise, dust control, or Construction noise permits, visit the Development Applications section or contact the Planning and Development team.
Stay safe on the road and thank you for your cooperation as we build a stronger Wrenford.
