Learn to skate sessions start June 3 at Eastfield

The City of Wrenford is opening registration for Learn to Skate sessions on June 3 at the Eastfield Twin Arenas. The new summer sessions will run through August and welcome skaters of all ages and abilities.

Instructors will be on the ice teaching balance, stopping, and turning skills in a supportive environment. You will need a CSA-approved helmet, gloves, and your own skates. Helmets and gloves are not provided. Skaters who do not have their own equipment can rent skates at the Eastfield rink front desk.

The program is split into groups by age and skill level so beginners get the attention they need. Skaters will move through the levels as they progress. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on June 3 through the online registration portal. You can also sign up in person at the Eastfield Twin Arenas front desk or at the Service Wrenford counter at City Hall. For step-by-step instructions, visit Online registration help.

"The new Learn to Skate sessions are a great way for families to get active during the summer," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We want to make sure every resident has a safe and fun place to learn these essential skills."

Fees for the six-week program are set at $35.00 per person. You can pay by credit card, debit, or cash. Pre-authorized payment plans are available through the registration portal. If the cost is a barrier, you can apply for a fee waiver or reduction at the Service Wrenford counter.
