Wrenford families can plan a trip to the water this summer as the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool prepares to open for the 2024 season. The splash pad will open in mid-June, followed by the main pool in late June, weather permitting. The facility is located at 15 Kingfisher Court in the Kingfisher neighbourhood.
The outdoor pool offers leisure swims, swim lessons, and scheduled times for preschoolers, teens, and families. The adjacent splash pad features multiple spray toys and a large dump bucket, making it a popular spot for younger children. Deck chairs are available for visitors who want to relax by the water.
The City maintains strict water quality standards at all aquatic facilities. Laboratory tests are run regularly to check chlorine levels and pH balance. You can review the latest water quality reports on the City website. If a boil water advisory is issued because of a main break or treatment issue, the pool will close right away until the water is safe.
While aquatic facilities use water for filling and topping off, the City still expects residents to follow outdoor water restrictions and guidelines during the summer. If you are looking for ways to reduce water use inside your home, the water conservation toolkit offers practical advice and free resources.
"Summer aquatic programs give our community a safe, affordable place to stay active and cool off," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We encourage residents to check the drop-in schedule online before visiting so you can plan your swim sessions around lesson times."
