Starting January 1, 2025, the City of Wrenford will implement updated park rental rates and booking policies. These changes apply to all city parks, pathways, and sports fields and are designed to cover rising maintenance costs while keeping facilities accessible for residents.
The new rates set standard daily rentals for greenspace and pathways at $60.00 per day, and major pathway segments at $90.00 per day. Portable washroom rentals stay at $120.00 per unit per day. All applicants must carry $2,000,000 in general liability insurance and submit their requests at least 30 days before the event. Cancellations made 30 days or more before the date will receive a full refund, while those made within 72 hours will not be refunded.
Whether you are planning a birthday party at Riverside Flats Park, a community festival at Benchlands Lookout Park, or a corporate picnic at Centennial Gardens, the updated guidelines will apply. All bookings must be made through the online facility rental application portal or in person at City Hall. The city also reminds event organizers to follow park fire safety rules and to keep noise levels within the limits set by the Noise By-law.
"We want to make it as straightforward as possible for residents and community groups to use our parks," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "The updated rates and clear booking rules help us maintain our facilities while keeping them accessible for everyone."
Residents can review the full list of 2025 rates, insurance requirements, and step-by-step booking instructions on the Learn about park rental rates page. For questions or assistance with an application, contact the Parks & Trails team or visit Wrenford City Hall.
