Candidate nomination deadline approaches for Wrenford 2026

The nomination deadline for the 2026 Wrenford municipal election is just around the corner. If you are thinking about running for mayor or a seat on City Council, you need to turn in your completed nomination papers by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2026.

You can submit your paperwork in person at the Elections Office, located in Room 205 of Wrenford City Hall at 100 Mercer Street. We recommend calling ahead or emailing to book an appointment. This gives our staff enough time to review your forms and answer any questions before the deadline.

"Running for local office is a great way to help shape the future of our community," said Nadia Kowalczyk, City Clerk. "We want to make sure every candidate has what they need to file correctly and on time."

All the forms you will need, along with a step-by-step guide, are available on our municipal elections page. You will also need to pay a $50.00 deposit when you submit your papers. This deposit is fully refunded if you receive at least 10 per cent of the vote.

Voter registration reminder

While you are making your plans, remember that eligible voters also have a deadline to meet. The last day to register to vote or update your address on the voter list is Friday, October 10, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

Registering ahead of time helps us get your ballot ready faster on election day. You can check if you are already on the list or sign up online at check if you are registered to vote. If you miss the deadline, you can still vote on October 26, but you will need to register at your assigned polling station before you cast your ballot.
