The Wrenford Public Library Board is reviewing its 2024 budget with a focus on expanding free digital resources and community computer access. As a result, the Board will hold a public consultation session in January to gather feedback from residents on how to best allocate funds for technology services.
The draft budget includes funding for upgraded public computers, expanded digital literacy workshops, and free access to premium research databases. The Board wants to ensure that all residents, regardless of income, have the tools they need to apply for jobs, complete school assignments, or connect with family and friends online.
"We know that reliable internet and modern technology are essential for everyday life," said Tara Sandhu, Library CEO. "Our goal is to remove barriers so that everyone in Wrenford can take full advantage of what the library offers, both in the branch and online."
Residents can share their thoughts by visiting the Library page for information on digital services, or by attending the public meeting at the Main Branch community room. The meeting will take place on January 15 at 6:30 p.m.
The Board is also reviewing its policy list to update guidelines for device lending and online resource usage. Feedback will be summarized and presented to the Board in February, with final decisions expected by March.
