City tests emergency alert system ahead of winter storm season

The City of Wrenford will test the Wrenford Emergency Alert Network on Tuesday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. Residents who have signed up for alerts will receive an email, voice call, or text message. This test makes sure the system works before the heavy snow and ice storms arrive later this month.

The alert message will read: "EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE. This is a test of the City of Wrenford emergency notification system. No action is required. THIS IS ONLY A TEST." You do not need to reply or take any steps when you see it.

If you do not receive the alert, check your contact information in the system. If you have not signed up yet, please do so by visiting Sign up for emergency alerts. You can also choose to receive news updates and service alerts along with emergency notices.

"Keeping you safe and informed during a storm is our top priority. This test makes sure the system works so you can take the right steps when severe weather hits." — Robert Eng, City Manager

The alert network is used by the City's Emergency Management team to share urgent notices during severe weather, power outages, and other emergencies. If you need help signing up or have questions, call 311 inside the city limits or 519-555-0100.
