What we offer
As an Ontario Works recipient, you must look for work to keep receiving support. Our Employment Support Services are free and designed to help you find and keep a job. You will work with an Employment Support Coordinator to build a plan that fits your skills and goals.

- Job search plans: We help you set weekly goals for applying to jobs and tracking your progress.
- Resume and interview workshops: Learn how to write a strong resume and practice for interviews in a group setting or one-on-one.
- Skills training referrals: We connect you with local colleges and training centres for short courses that match local job needs.
- Volunteer placements: Gain work experience and references through volunteer roles at local non-profits and community groups.
- Employer partnerships: We work with local businesses in Wrenford to find open positions and help you apply directly.
How to get started
You can access employment support through your regular Ontario Works case worker or by booking a direct appointment with the Employment Support Coordinator. Drop-in help is available at the Service Wrenford counter during regular City Hall hours. Bring your Ontario Works identification and any existing employment plan.
Rules and expectations
Participating in employment activities is a condition of your Ontario Works benefits. You must:
- Meet with your Employment Support Coordinator as scheduled.
- Complete your weekly job search activities and report your results.
- Accept suitable job offers without delay.
- Update your case worker if your contact information, job status, or availability changes.
If you face barriers to finding work, such as transportation issues, health conditions, or lack of childcare, tell your coordinator right away. We will adjust your plan or refer you to other City programs that can help.
Fees
All employment support services are free for Ontario Works recipients. There are no charges for resume reviews, workshops, training referrals, or volunteer placement assistance.
