About the grant

The City of Wrenford provides funding to community organizations that run programs and services for older adults. We want to help groups offer outreach initiatives, peer support, and culturally inclusive activities that keep seniors connected, active, and healthy in their neighbourhoods. This funding helps cover staff time, venue rentals, materials, and transportation costs for participants.

Who can apply

You may apply if you are a registered non-profit or community-based organization that delivers regular programs for residents aged 65 and older. This includes seniors' centres, neighbourhood houses, and community groups running social clubs, wellness workshops, or outreach services. Your organization must have a board of directors and maintain active registration with the City.

How much funding is available

Applications are reviewed under the Community Grant Program. Eligible projects can receive up to $15,000 for annual operating support or up to $7,500 for one-time events and pilot programs. The City may also cover up to 50 per cent of equipment costs for accessible programming, such as mobility aids or hearing loop systems.

How to apply

Submit your application through the Wrenford eGrants portal. You will need to provide a brief project description, a detailed budget, and proof of your organization's non-profit status. Paper forms are also available at the Service Wrenford counter or by mail. Staff can help you fill out the forms if you drop in during business hours.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed monthly by the Community Grants Committee. Decisions are usually sent within four weeks of the monthly review date.

Deadlines and reporting

The annual renewal window for existing recipients closes on August 31. All new and renewing recipients must submit a short completion report and final budget within 30 days of the program's end date. If you need more time, contact the grants team before the deadline so we can adjust your timeline.
