About the Eastfield Community Garden Network
The Eastfield Community Garden Network is a volunteer group that looks after shared garden beds and brings the neighbourhood together through the seasons. You can join us to grow your own vegetables, help tend the community plots, and take part in local events like harvest festivals and seed swaps. Whether you have a green thumb or just want to learn how to start a garden, there is a place for you.
This group is open to all Eastfield residents. You do not need prior gardening experience to participate. Members work together to keep the beds healthy, share tools, and plan seasonal activities that celebrate local growing.
Meetings are held at the Eastfield Community Garden on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., between May and October. We meet rain or shine, so dress appropriately for the weather. Bring your own gloves and any seeds or seedlings you would like to share or trade with neighbours.
There is no cost to join or to use the garden beds. All materials and seeds are provided by the network. To get involved, sign up for upcoming events or ask questions by contacting the City's community development office at [email protected]. They can put you in touch with the volunteer coordinators and share the latest planting schedules.
