Get your garden ready for spring on Saturday, April 17, 2027, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hollis Creek Picnic Shelter. This hands-on workshop is designed for adults and seniors who want to start their garden season with confidence. You will learn how to prepare your soil, choose the right seeds for our climate, and care for your basic gardening tools. We will also cover simple watering schedules and pest management that work well in Southwestern Ontario.
Registration is required because we need to order the correct amount of seeds, soil amendments, and pots for each participant. The cost is $15.00 for materials, which you will take home. You can sign up online through the Recreation & Culture section or call 311 to book your spot. Spaces are limited, so please register early.
Please bring a pair of gardening gloves and a reusable water bottle. All other supplies will be provided. The shelter features an accessible entrance and clean washrooms are located just outside. If you need special accommodations or have questions about accessibility, visit the Accessibility page or call 311.
We look forward to seeing you get your hands dirty and grow something wonderful this year.
