What is a tax certificate?
A tax certificate is an official document that shows the current tax status of a property in Wrenford. It lists all charges applied to a specific address, including municipal property taxes, penalties, arrears, and local improvement charges such as snow clearing or yard waste collection.
Real estate purchasers, lawyers, realtors, and property owners often request a tax certificate to confirm the financial standing of a property before a sale or transfer.
How to request a tax certificate
You can request a tax certificate through any of the following methods:
- Online: Use the Property Tax portal to submit your request directly. You will receive the certificate by email once it is processed.
- By mail or in person: Fill out the Tax Certificate Request Form and send it to Room 310, Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1. You can also drop it off at the Service Wrenford counter.
- By fax: Send your completed form to 519-555-0100.
When submitting a request, please include the full property address or the roll number found on your property tax notice. If you are requesting a certificate for a property you do not own, you must include a signed letter of authorization from the property owner.

There is a fee of $25.00 for each tax certificate requested. Payment can be made by credit card, debit, or cheque. If you pay by cheque, please make it payable to the "City of Wrenford" and include your roll number or name in the memo line.
