What we recycle
Wrenford recycles asphalt shingles and drywall at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility. Processing these materials keeps them out of the landfill and turns them into useful products for local roads, farming, and construction projects.
Asphalt shingles
If you are replacing a roof or doing repairs, you can bring your old shingles to the drop-off depot. We turn the recycled shingles into paving mixes and road base. This helps reduce the amount of construction waste that ends up in the ground.
Accepted
- Clean asphalt shingles
- Felt paper attached to the shingles
Not accepted
- Shingles that are nailed or stapled to wood
- Shingles with metal flashing or gutters still attached
- Shingles wrapped in plastic
- Cedar or other natural wood shingles
Drywall (gypsum)
When you renovate a room or build a partition, you can bring the leftover drywall to the facility. We recycle unpainted drywall so the gypsum can be reused as a soil amendment for farms and as a raw material for building products.
Accepted
- Unpainted drywall sheets
Not accepted
- Drywall with paint, stain, or wallpaper on it
- Shaftliner or fiberglass mat drywall
- Drywall attached to wood or metal
Where to drop them off
All shingles and drywall must be dropped off at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility. We do not collect these materials curbside, and they are not accepted at the Northgate Drop-off Depot.

Preparing your load
To keep our staff safe and our recycling stream clean, please follow these tips:
- Remove all nails, staples, and wood pieces before you arrive.
- Break drywall sheets into pieces that fit on the floor of your vehicle.
- Do not mix shingles or drywall with garbage, Green Bin, or Blue Bin materials.
- Secure your load with tie-down straps so nothing falls onto the road.
