About the framework
The Community Safety Investment Framework is Wrenford's plan to prevent crime and keep our neighbourhoods safe. It works under the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 and focuses on early intervention, youth support, and community partnerships. Instead of waiting for problems to happen, we invest in programmes that address the root causes of crime and violence.
How we work together
The Community Safety Investment Framework Committee brings together the City, the Wrenford Police Service Board, Tamsin Valley Public Health, and local service providers. We meet bi-monthly to review data, share resources, and align our strategies. Our goal is to ensure that every dollar spent on safety creates lasting change for residents.
Funding for local programmes
We receive provincial funding through the Building Safer Communities Fund to support organisations that work with at-risk youth and families. In 2026, the City allocated $1,850,000 to local partners. These grants fund mentorship, mental health support, cultural programming, and transition services for youth leaving the justice system.
| Organisation | Programme | Funding Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Wrenford Police Service Foundation | Community Safety Education | $245,000 |
| Tamsin Valley Wellness Collective | Youth Resilience Network | $310,000 |
| Newcomer Pathways Wrenford | Safe Harbours Mentorship | $420,000 |

How to apply
If your organisation runs programmes that prevent crime, support at-risk youth, or improve community well-being, you can apply for funding. Applications open each spring and close on May 31. We review proposals based on need, community impact, and alignment with the framework's goals. You must demonstrate how your programme works with local partners and tracks outcomes.
Submit your application through the Community grant application portal. For questions about eligibility or the review process, email [email protected].
Report on safety investments
The City publishes an annual safety investment report every November. The report shows how funding was used, what programmes are working, and how we plan to adjust our approach. You can view past reports on the View community grant reports.
