Apply to work the 2026 municipal election
Thank you for your interest in supporting democracy in Wrenford. We are looking for residents to help run the municipal election on October 26, 2026. All roles are now filled, but we keep this page updated for future reference and to share what to expect if you apply next time.
Election worker roles and pay
We are hiring more than 2,000 workers across three main roles. You can apply to one or more roles through the Elections section on our site.
- Presiding Election Official ($45.00 per hour): You will manage voting operations at an assigned polling place. This role is best for people with leadership experience who stay calm under pressure and can solve problems quickly.
- Alternate Presiding Election Official ($34.00 per hour): You will support the Presiding Election Official. If the Presiding Election Official needs a break, you step in to take over. This is a great way to learn the ropes and gain leadership skills.
- Election Official and Rover ($22.00 per hour): You will greet voters, check their identification, process their registration, and hand out ballots. Rovers move between several polling places to help where the need is greatest, restock supplies, and check that everything runs smoothly.

To work at a polling place, you must:
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
