Planning to attend a council meeting
We want everyone in Wrenford to take part in our meetings. We follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). We offer services to help you follow the discussion and share your thoughts.
If you need an accommodation, please let us know at least two weeks before the meeting. You can email [email protected] or call 519-555-0142. Our Accessibility Coordinator, Katrina Doucet, will help you.
Communication services
- American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters: Available for in-person meetings.
- Live captioning: Shown on screens in the Council Chamber and on the livestream.
- Assistive listening devices: Available at the front desk in the Council Chambers.
- Large print or Braille materials: Council agendas and reports can be provided in large print or Braille upon request.
When you contact us, please tell us your name, the date and time of the meeting, and how many people in your group will need the service.
Getting to City Hall and the Council Chamber
Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers at Wrenford City Hall (Wrenford City Hall). The building has an accessible entrance on Water Street. Once inside, head to the second floor for the chambers.
The Council Chambers feature:
- Wheelchair access and wide doorways
- Lowered registration desks
- Accessible washrooms on the main floor and near the chambers
- Good lighting and clear sightlines
Travel options
Transit: The Downtown Transit Terminal (Downtown Transit Terminal) is a short walk from City Hall. Regular Wrenford Transit routes stop nearby. If you need specialized transit, book a ride with Wrenford Access by calling 519-555-0114.
Parking: There is an accessible parkade at City Hall. Look for the signs for "Accessible Parking" on Water Street. You can also use the on-street accessible spots along Mercer Street.
Attending virtually
All council and committee meetings are livestreamed online. You can watch and listen from home. If you register to speak, we will send you a link to join the video call. Virtual attendees can also use the live captioning feature on the stream.
We welcome your feedback
If you experience a barrier at a city meeting, please tell us. You can reach out to the Accessibility Coordinator at 519-555-0142 or email [email protected]. We will work with you to fix the issue.
Land acknowledgement
The City of Wrenford acknowledges that we live, work and gather on the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations, and we commit to learning and to reconciliation.
