Police service jobs

Learn about open roles, pay, benefits, and how to apply for a career with the Wrenford Police Service.

Working with the Wrenford Police Service

The Wrenford Police Service is an independent, arm's-length agency. The Wrenford Police Service Board hires and guides our Chief of Police, Andrea Holloway. We protect and serve the people of Wrenford, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our officers and civilian staff work in patrol, investigations, community safety, and administration. We focus on keeping our neighbourhoods safe, helping people in crisis, and building trust across the city.

Open positions and how to apply

We post all vacancies on the Careers portal. You can create a profile, upload your resume, and set up job alerts. We review applications in the order they arrive. Please do not send resumes by email, mail, or in person. We will only contact you if your qualifications match an open role.

What we look for

  • You live in Ontario, and you are at least 18 years old.
  • You hold a valid Ontario driver’s licence (Class G2 or higher).
  • You have a clean criminal record check.
  • You can pass a medical exam, a drug screen, and a background investigation.
  • You can work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Training and development

All sworn officers complete the Ontario Police College basic training program before they patrol the streets. We also fund advanced courses in crisis intervention, forensic investigation, and leadership. Civilian staff receive on-the-job training and support for professional certifications. We encourage you to grow your skills while you serve the community.

Pay and benefits

Starting pay for sworn officers is $58,200.00 per year, with regular step increases. Civilian roles start between $42,000.00 and $55,000.00, depending on experience. All employees get a defined benefit pension, health and dental coverage, and paid vacation. You will work a 24-hour shift model, followed by days off, to keep our teams rested and ready.

Need help?

We hire for many different career paths. Sworn officers lead patrols, respond to emergencies, and work with local groups on safety projects. Civilian staff manage records, run the dispatch centre, handle finances, and support community outreach. If you enjoy problem-solving, technology, or working with the public, there is a place for you here.
