About the grants
The City of Wrenford offers housing development grants to help increase the supply of new homes across the city. Whether you are a non-profit housing provider, a developer, or a community group, these grants cover pre-development costs, infrastructure connections, and feasibility studies. The goal is to make it easier to build safe, affordable, and diverse housing for Wrenford families.
Who can apply
Developers, non-profit housing providers, and community land trusts working on projects that align with the City's Official Plan and the Wrenford Neighbourhoods strategy can apply. Priority is given to projects that include a set percentage of below-market rental units or affordable home ownership options.
What the grants cover
- Pre-development work: The Wrenford Pre-Development Housing Grant covers up to $33,000 for feasibility studies, environmental assessments, and engineering work.
- Infrastructure connections: The Infrastructure Connection Grant helps cover the cost of extending water, wastewater, and stormwater services to new housing sites.
- Land acquisition support: Assistance for non-profits and community land trusts looking to purchase surplus City-owned land through the Municipal Land Disposal Process.
- Missing middle housing: The Missing Middle Housing Incentive provides additional funding for duplexes, triplexes, and low-rise apartment buildings in established neighbourhoods.
