Indigenous procurement opportunities

Learn how the City supports Indigenous-owned businesses in our procurement process and how you can register as a supplier.

Our commitment to Indigenous procurement

The City of Wrenford acknowledges that we live, work and gather on the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations, and we commit to learning and to reconciliation. We are working to remove barriers and build capacity so that Indigenous-owned businesses can compete fairly for City contracts. This programme follows Ontario procurement laws and trade agreements, and it is guided by our Purchasing Manager and local Indigenous partners.

How we support Indigenous suppliers

We want to make it easier for Indigenous businesses to work with the City. We focus on four areas:

  • People: We build relationships with Indigenous business groups and community organisations.
  • Process: We share clear information about procurement opportunities and review how we evaluate bids.
  • Technology: We provide step-by-step help to navigate the Wrenford Supplier Portal and submit bids.
  • Training and support: We offer free workshops on preparing proposals and understanding City purchasing rules.

Steps to participate

  1. Register your business on the Wrenford Supplier Portal.
  2. Complete the Social Procurement Questionnaire in your profile.
  3. Sign up for our free Selling to the City information sessions.
  4. Watch for procurement opportunities posted on the portal and the provincial purchasing network.
