Access city archives

Visit the City of Wrenford Archives at the Old Mill Museum to view historic records, photos, and maps, or search our digital collection online.

Where to find the archives

The City of Wrenford Archives is located inside the Old Mill Museum & Archives at 12 Mill Street. The reading room is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Staff assistance is available until 4:00 p.m. You can reach us by phone at 519-555-0133 or by email at [email protected].

What is in the collection

The archives hold the official records of the City of Wrenford, as well as personal and community papers. You will find municipal council minutes, agendas, by-laws, and engineering plans. The collection also includes photographs, maps, newspapers, and oral histories that tell the story of our neighbourhoods, businesses, and residents. Many of these items are available to view online through our digital portal.

How to access records

You do not need an appointment to visit the reading room, but booking one ahead of time ensures a staff member is available to help you. If you are researching a specific topic, such as a property's history or a past council decision, you can search our online database first. For complex research projects or to view fragile original documents, we recommend visiting in person. You can also email your research questions to [email protected], and our coordinator will reply with what we can find.

Research assistance fees

Visiting the reading room and asking quick questions is free. If you need a staff member to conduct an in-depth search or pull multiple files for you, there is a charge. Research assistance is $35.00 per hour. We will always contact you for approval before starting any paid work. Payment can be made by credit card or debit at the front desk.

We want to preserve the history of Wrenford for future generations, and your family or business papers could be an important part of that story. The archives accept donations of photographs, diaries, maps, and organisational records. All donations are reviewed for historical value. If you are interested in donating, please contact us to discuss how we can work together. You can also learn more about how we care for historical materials on our donate to the archives page.

Plan your visit

The reading room is located on the main floor of the Old Mill Museum & Archives. Street parking is available on Mill Street, and accessible washrooms are located near the museum entrance. If you require a reasonable accommodation to visit the archives, please let us know when you call or email. We are committed to making our collections accessible to everyone.
