What you need to know

Parking permits let you stay in designated zones longer than regular time limits. Wrenford offers several permit types to help residents, contractors, and visitors park safely and legally. All permits are issued under the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075.

Types of permits

Residential Parking Permit (RPP)

Needed if you live on a block with parking restriction signs. Only residents in designated zones can apply. You must prove you live in the zone.

  • Fee: $75.00 per year
  • Eligibility: Homeowners and long-term renters in restricted zones

Contractor Reserved Parking Permit

Allows contractors to reserve on-street parking near active work sites in Residential Parking Zones. You must book at least five business days in advance.

  • Fee: $22.00 per day, per parking space
  • Limit: Maximum of three spaces per site

Accessible Parking Permit

For residents who cannot walk more than 50 metres without assistance. You must hold a valid Ontario Accessibility Parking Permit and apply through the City for the local zone pass.

  • Fee: $12.50 per month or $150.00 per year
  • Benefit: Extended parking in paid zones and designated accessible stalls

Visitor Permits

Let guests park near your home for up to 24 hours. Each household can purchase up to two permits per year.

  • Fee: $10.00 per permit

  • By mail: Send your completed form and supporting copies to 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1.

What you must provide

  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence
  • Current vehicle registration
  • Proof of residency (lease, utility bill, or property tax bill)
  • Accessible permit: Valid provincial accessibility placard and a completed mobility form

Renewing your permit

Permits expire on December 31 each year. You will receive a reminder email or letter in November. To renew, visit Service Wrenford online or stop by City Hall. You do not need to submit new proof of residency if your details have not changed.

If your permit expires, you must pay a late renewal fee of $25.00 to reactivate it. Do not drive in restricted zones without a valid permit.

Rules and by-laws

Permit holders must display their decal or digital pass clearly on the vehicle. Forgetting to display a permit can still result in a parking ticket. All permits are non-transferable and must be renewed before the expiry date.
