About last-minute ice slots
Need ice time on short notice? You can book a last-minute slot at a reduced rate at any of our City-operated arenas. This option is great for pickup games, skate practice, or figure skating drills. Slots are released on a first-come, first-served basis.
Last-minute ice is available at the following locations:
- Westbrook Community Arena (two ice pads)
- Eastfield Twin Arenas (two ice pads)
How to book
You can only book last-minute ice through our online booking system. Phone and walk-in bookings are not available for this rate. Follow these steps:
- Log in to the Recreation booking portal.
- Select the arena, date, and time you want.
- Choose a 60-minute slot. Each slot includes a 30-minute ice flood.
- Pay at checkout. Slots are confirmed immediately.
Bookings open between 72 and 24 hours before your desired ice time. Same-day bookings are not available. If you are flexible with your date, time, and arena choice, you will have more options to choose from.
Fees and payment
Last-minute slots are discounted compared to standard arena rental rates. Payment is required when you book. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Fees include access to the dressing rooms for 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your rental time. A $100.00 cleaning deposit is required for all bookings and is refunded if the space is left clean.
Booking rules and safety
By booking a slot, you agree to the facility rules and regulations. Please keep these important points in mind:
- No cancellations: Last-minute ice bookings are non-refundable. There are no exceptions.
- Zero tolerance policy: Alcohol and cannabis are strictly prohibited at all City facilities. Any violation will result in removal from the premises and loss of booking privileges.
- Ice safety: Do not step onto the ice while the resurfacer is running. Wait for the gates to close.
- Supervision: Children under eight years of age must be accompanied by a person aged 14 or older.
- Respect the space: Keep food and beverages off the ice and in the player boxes. Report all injuries to facility staff.
- Professional filming: Permits are required for all commercial photography or filming.
