The Wrenford Youth Council is hosting a free summer skills workshop at the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre this week. The event is open to all youth in the city, and no prior experience is needed.
The workshop focuses on community leadership, first aid basics, and project planning. Participants will work in small groups to design a real community project. The Youth Council will guide them through every step, from brainstorming to presenting their ideas to local leaders. You will also learn how to run a meeting, write a simple proposal, and work with different age groups.
“We want young people to see that they can lead change right in their own neighbourhoods,” says Recreation Programs Coordinator Caroline Dubé. “These workshops give them the tools to turn their ideas into action.”
The workshop runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6. Registration is open now. Visit the Youth portal to sign up, or drop in at the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre front desk. Please bring a water bottle, a packed lunch, and a notebook. Spaces are limited, so register early to secure your spot.
