Wrenford releases 2025 audited financial statements

The City of Wrenford released its 2025 audited financial statements on April 14 at City Hall, with City Manager Robert Eng presenting the results to Council.

“A clean audit reflects the careful planning and day-to-day discipline of our staff and leadership,” says City Manager Robert Eng. “It shows we are managing public funds responsibly while keeping essential services running smoothly for all residents.”

The 2025 year-end results show a small operating surplus. This surplus comes from higher-than-expected user fees, including utility services and development charges, alongside cost savings in contracted services and materials. The surplus will be directed to the City’s operating and capital reserves to support future infrastructure projects and maintain service levels. The audited statements include the consolidated financial statements for all City funds, including the operating budget, capital projects, and reserve accounts. The report also provides detailed breakdowns of remuneration for elected officials, payments to suppliers, and expenses for arm’s-length boards like the Wrenford Public Library Board and the Wrenford Police Service Board.
