Wrenford Public Library Main Branch roof repairs 2026

The City of Wrenford is scheduling essential roof repairs at the Wrenford Public Library — Main Branch. Work begins on Monday, September 14 and is expected to wrap up by Friday, October 2. The project is led by the Library Board in partnership with City infrastructure crews.

The building at 150 Mercer Street will be surrounded by scaffolding to keep workers and pedestrians safe. You may notice that the sidewalk space near the main entrance narrows during the first two weeks. The Library Board will keep all reading rooms and program spaces open, but the main lobby will close for thirty minutes each morning while materials are delivered. If you prefer, you can enter through the side door on Water Street.

Roads & Winter Maintenance crews will monitor the street and sidewalk around the site daily. They will make quick fixes to any pavement or curb damage the scaffolding trucks cause. If you see a pothole or a cracked path near the library, please report it so we can fix it before it becomes a tripping hazard.

"We know construction near a community staple can be disruptive, but protecting the building's structure is our top priority," said Roads Superintendent James Whitford. "Our crews will keep the work zone tidy and minimize noise during library hours."

The Library Board reminds patrons that book returns and Wi-Fi access will remain available throughout the repair period. If you need to reach the Library Board with questions about the schedule, you can call 519-555-0130 or visit the branch website.
