Wrenford paramedic service launches summer public safety campaign

You can stay safe this summer with the Wrenford Paramedic Services annual public safety campaign, launching today, April 29, 2026. The new initiative focuses on preventing heat illness, avoiding water accidents, and using 911 wisely during the busy outdoor season.

As temperatures rise, you may see more ambulances on the road. Paramedics want you to drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and take breaks in the shade. You should also check on older neighbours or anyone living alone when the city issues a heat advisory. With many people visiting Ambrel Lake and the Tamsin River, please keep a close eye on children near the water and learn basic CPR if you have not already.

You can get real-time service alerts and helpful health reminders by downloading the City of Wrenford app. Before you call 911, use the app's interactive checklist to make sure your emergency truly needs an ambulance. If you have a minor cut, a mild fever, or a sore throat, visit a local walk-in clinic or contact Tamsin Valley Public Health. This keeps emergency lines open for you and your neighbours when every second counts.

“Our crews are ready to respond to whatever the season brings, but prevention is always the best medicine,” said Yusuf Karimi, Chief of Paramedic Services. “When you take simple steps to stay safe and use 911 appropriately, we can focus our resources where they are needed most.”
