The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce the return of Wrenford Ice Days for Family Day weekend, February 13 to 15, 2027. The free winter festival will take place at Riverside Flats Park, right beside the Tamsin River. We invite all residents and visitors to enjoy the season with free public skating, winter games, and warm-up shelters.
This year, the event will feature a larger footprint on the event lawn at Riverside Flats Park. You can watch local hockey teams play exhibition games, join a family relay race, or visit the warming hut for hot cocoa. The City's Parks & Trails team will set up the outdoor rink and ensure all walkways are clear and safe.
As always, we are taking extra steps to protect our water supply during the event. The City's Water & Wastewater team will monitor nearby catch basins and the Tamsin River shoreline to manage runoff and keep the area clean. We also encourage you to bring reusable cups and bottles to help reduce waste.
"Families have been coming to Riverside Flats Park for our winter festival for years," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We want to keep that tradition alive while making sure we care for the river and the park that host us."
