The City of Wrenford has updated the Wrenford Ice Days schedule to include new family-friendly activities at Riverside Flats Park. The changes add hands-on crafts, a family skating circuit, and a winter story time corner. These updates come from feedback collected at community meetings in the Downtown, Riverside Flats, and Fallsview neighbourhoods.
“We want everyone to feel welcome and have fun, no matter their age,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “These additions make the event easier for families to enjoy together.”
The new activities will run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family skating circuit offers free rental skates and a flat, easy path for beginners. The Little Explorers Winter Walk guides families through a short, snow-packed trail with guided nature talks. A winter story time corner under the heated pavilion provides books, warm drinks, and reading games for children.
You can check the updated schedule on the Neighbourhoods page or pick up a printed map at the Service Wrenford counter in City Hall. The updated schedule is available now. If you have questions about parking or transit routes, visit the Parks & Trails page for guidance on getting there safely.
The City encourages all residents to dress warmly and bring reusable cups for the free hot drinks provided at the event. For more ways to stay active and connected this season, visit the Access community recreation programs page.
