The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Wildrye Splash Pad is officially open for the 2026 season. Located at Wildrye Park, 90 Wildrye Drive in the Wildrye neighbourhood, the splash pad is a free outdoor amenity designed for children and families to enjoy during the warmer months.
The splash pad will operate daily from late June through Labour Day, typically between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., weather permitting. The area features ground-level spray nozzles and misting stations that provide a safe, shallow environment for kids to play and cool off. There is no standing water, making it an easy and accessible option for families of all ages.
The water used in the splash pad is treated and regularly monitored by the Water & Wastewater department to ensure it meets provincial safety standards. Residents can review the latest testing results on the Water quality reports and monitoring page. If outdoor watering restrictions are in effect due to drought conditions, the splash pad will continue to operate using recycled water and closed-loop systems, as detailed in the outdoor water restrictions and guidelines.
"We are excited to welcome families back to the splash pad this summer," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "It is a great way for kids to cool off and enjoy our community spaces safely."
Visitors are asked to bring their own water bottles, sunscreen, and towels. Please note that pets are not allowed in the splash pad area, but you can take advantage of the nearby Hollis Park Off-Leash Area to let your dog run off-leash before or after your visit.
If severe weather is forecasted or if there are any service changes, updates will be posted on the Service Alerts page. For more information about this amenity and other seasonal parks, visit the Parks & Trails page.
