Transit service alerts issued for municipal election day travel

Wrenford Transit will operate on a Sunday holiday schedule on Monday, October 26, 2026, to support voters heading to the polls for the municipal election. The change affects all fixed routes across the city.

Election day falls on a Monday this year, which means the usual weekday timetable will not apply. Instead, riders can expect the same reduced frequency and later start times that you see on Sundays. Buses will begin service at 8:00 a.m. and run until 8:00 p.m. on all 14 fixed routes.

"We know that a smooth ride can make a big difference on election day," says Transit Manager Daniel Osei. "Our crews are ready to keep the service running safely and on time, and we are asking riders to plan their trips a little earlier than usual so they have plenty of time to vote."

What this means for your trip

  • Check the Wrenford Transit app or our website for real-time bus arrivals before you leave home.
  • Allow extra time for transfers, as connections between routes may take longer during the reduced schedule.
  • If you rely on Wrenford Access specialized transit, your booked trips will still run as scheduled. Just confirm your reservation with our booking team by the usual deadline.
  • Keep your transit pass or Wrenford Transit app ready. Fares are the same as a regular Sunday ride.

Plan ahead for your ride

Many voters will be travelling in the morning and early afternoon. To avoid long waits, look up your route on the Bus schedules and timetables page and download the timetable for your neighbourhood. You can also use the 311 text-to-arrival service by texting a four-digit stop number to 311 to see exactly when the next bus is coming.

The City will post any last-minute changes or weather-related adjustments to the Transit disruptions and service alerts page. We recommend checking that page on the morning of October 26 if you are travelling before 9:00 a.m.
