You can now play pickleball year-round without braving the cold. The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that four new indoor pickleball courts are officially open at the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre, located at 400 Benchlands Drive. The courts opened this week to meet the growing demand for the sport across the city.
Accessing the courts is simple. Players can use them on a first-come, first-served basis when no time slots are booked. If you want to guarantee a spot, you can reserve a court online through Wrenford Recreation Online. A small booking fee applies to reserved slots. When a court is not booked, it is open to everyone for free play.
"We have heard from residents for years that they want reliable, dedicated space for pickleball," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Converting part of our fieldhouse into four indoor courts means players can train and compete comfortably through the winter months, which will help the sport continue to grow in our community."
To get started, visit the book a pickleball court page to view court availability and reserve your time. Remember to bring your own paddles and indoor balls. The Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre also offers equipment rentals if you need gear, and the facility is fully accessible with washrooms located on the same level as the courts.
