Snow route parking ban lifts Monday across Wrenford

The overnight on-street parking ban ends Monday, February 16, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. across all Wrenford neighbourhoods. You can park on your street again as normal.

The ban runs from December 1 to March 31 each year, from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. It gives Roads & Winter Maintenance crews the space they need to clear snow from residential streets. Without a clear path, plows cannot push snow to the curb or make turns safely. The rules are set out in Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law 2020-097.

On the last night of the ban, please make sure your vehicle is moved before 2:00 a.m. If you park on the street regularly, you will want to plan ahead. Keep your car in a driveway, garage, or private lot whenever possible during the winter months. If you do not have off-street parking, look for nearby community lots or pay lots that stay open overnight.

“We appreciate everyone moving their cars on time so we can get the snow off the roads quickly and keep our neighbourhoods safe and accessible,” said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. “When streets are clear, our crews can work faster and reach more homes before the morning commute.”

Even after the ban lifts, winter road conditions can still be tricky. Watch for black ice and packed snow, especially on hills and shaded areas. Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you and allow extra time for your trip. If you see a pothole or a broken street light after a storm, you can report it through our online tool or call 519-555-0100.
