Northgate Aquatic Centre summer season opens May 23

The City of Wrenford announces that the Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard will open for the summer season on Monday, May 23. The facility will feature a 50-metre lap pool, a dive tank, and a waterslide, operating Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Along with the building opening, the City will resume public swim sessions, length swim lanes, aquafitness classes, and swimming lessons. The waterslide closes daily at 1:00 p.m. for a short maintenance break, and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. Please note that the outdoor splash pad at Ambrel Lake Park and the pool at Kingfisher Outdoor Pool will open shortly after in late June.

Before you visit, review the posted hours and safety guidelines on the registration page. You can also book your spot for swimming lessons and aquafitness classes online. If you enjoy the outdoors, explore the wider trail network through Parks & Trails.

“We are excited to welcome swimmers back to the water this spring,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “The Northgate Aquatic Centre has been a favourite spot for families and athletes in Wrenford, and we want to ensure it remains a safe and fun place for everyone to stay active.”
