The City of Wrenford Parks, Recreation & Culture department is pleased to announce that the Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard will reopen to the public on Monday, March 2, 2026. The 50-metre pool, dive tank and waterslide will be fully operational, and the facility will resume its regular hours.
“We are thrilled to welcome residents back to the Northgate Aquatic Centre,” said Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. “This facility is a cornerstone of our community, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while we completed the necessary upgrades. We are ready to dive into a busy season of lessons, public swims and family fun.”
The centre will operate on its standard schedule: Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All public swim sessions, length swim lanes and aquafit classes will resume immediately. The dive tank will also be open for advanced training and public use.
Spring registration for all aquatic programs, including Learn to Swim, Swim for Life and aquafit, opens the first Monday of March. Residents can register online through Wrenford Recreation Online or by calling the Downtown Transit Terminal at 519-555-0114. Please review the registration guidelines before booking your spot.
Crews will continue minor exterior landscaping around the building through the spring. The City thanks the community for their cooperation as we get back to swimming. For the complete schedule of aquatic programming and facility hours, visit the facility page.
