The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Northgate Aquatic Centre will reopen to the public on Friday, May 20, 2026, following a series of summer renovations. You can visit the facility at 910 Northgate Boulevard, where a comprehensive upgrade has improved safety and operational efficiency.
The renovation project focused on replacing the aging pool filtration system, resurfacing the 50-metre lap pool, and installing a new waterslide. These improvements bring the centre in line with current provincial health and safety standards while reducing water and energy consumption for future seasons. Crews completed the interior work in early May, allowing time for thorough water quality testing and final safety inspections by the City’s building officials.
“We are thrilled to bring the Northgate Aquatic Centre back online,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “The renovations improve water quality and energy efficiency while giving our residents a safer, more enjoyable environment for swimming lessons and public swim sessions. We appreciate your patience during the closure.”
With the facility reopening, all scheduled programming will resume immediately. You can join daily public swim sessions, use the length swim lanes, take part in aquafit classes, or enroll your children in swimming lessons for all ages. The dive tank is also open for certified divers and training sessions. The sauna and locker rooms are fully operational, and all areas comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) to ensure inclusive access for every visitor.
You can view the updated daily schedule and booking information on the Northgate Aquatic Centre page. For a complete overview of operating hours, parking, and transit access, visit the Facility information and hours page. Registration for summer swimming lessons opens March 1, 2027, according to the Registration dates and tips page. The City of Wrenford thanks you for your patience during the renovation period and looks forward to welcoming you and your family back to the water.
