The Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard is officially open for the 2026 swimming season as of Monday, May 25. The City of Wrenford is welcoming residents back to the 50-metre pool, dive tank, and waterslide after a spring maintenance period. Public swim hours begin at 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and run until 9:00 p.m. On weekends, the facility opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m.
Registration for summer programmes and day camps is open now. Families can book sessions online through the Wrenford Recreation Portal or visit the front desk at the facility. Drop-in public swim rates are $6.50 for adults and $4.00 for children and seniors. Wrenford Access members and cardholders receive reduced entry fees.
The centre also features a sauna and a heated leisure area for older adults. Seniors who want to stay active in the water can join the Silver Swim programme, which offers gentle exercises and social hours designed for comfort and mobility. For more information on age-friendly activities and wellness programs, visit the Seniors page.
“We are thrilled to have the Northgate Aquatic Centre back up and running,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “This pool has been a cornerstone of our community for decades, and we appreciate the patience of residents during the spring closure. We look forward to seeing families, swimmers, and seniors enjoying the water all summer long.”
Please note that the waterslide may operate on a reduced schedule during peak hours to ensure safety and manage crowd flow. Staff will be available at the deck to assist with any questions or to direct swimmers to the appropriate lanes.
