The Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard will close for public swimming and drop-in classes beginning March 20, 2026. The facility will reopen on April 3. This two-week shutdown allows the City to complete essential equipment upgrades and renew the filtration systems that keep our pools safe and clean.
During the closure, residents can enjoy swimming at the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre on Benchlands Drive or the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre. Both facilities have full aquatic programmes running as scheduled. If you are registered for a swim lesson or aquafit class that normally meets at Northgate, you will be contacted directly about a new time and location. You can also visit Registration and booking FAQs for help adjusting your account.
The customer service desk at Northgate will be closed during these two weeks. For registration, gift card purchases, or general questions, please visit the service counter at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, or call 519-555-0121. Staff will be available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
"We know that a sudden facility change can be frustrating, but this renewal is a necessary investment to keep our water quality high and our equipment running smoothly for years to come," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We appreciate your patience while we finish the work, and we hope you will take this chance to explore our other community centres."
Please check the Facility information and hours page for the latest operating times at all recreation centres. If you have a recreation value pass or a season pass, your access will automatically transfer to other aquatic facilities until the centre reopens. You do not need to take any action to adjust your membership.
